Swiss Safe Storage, description
By choosing Swiss Safe Storage, you will use a highly mature network service. You will be able to encrypt, protect and upload files from any server or computer able to access internet. Data will then be uploaded securely through a high security encrypted / password protected link to our secure servers.

Swiss Safe Storage software from InfoForm
Our dedicated backup software uses state of the art compression and cipher algorythms. It runs either on Mac OS and Windows computers (Linux version to be released soon). Swiss Safe Storage software lets you chose files and folders you want to backup as well as the the frequency of automated backups. Should you decide it, you may execute unattended backups at any important time.
Swiss Safe storage software does incremental backups for your convenience and to save time and bandwidth: only new or modified files are backed-up.
By default and for your convenience, Swiss Safe Storage backup software will automatically backup the 'Documents' folder of the currently connected user once a week.

Data upload and download
All data transfers are done using the SSH protocol (Secure Shell), data is strongly encrypted during transport.  Actual speed depends of the speed of your internet connection.   Using a journalized backup greatly lessen transfert time.  Please notice that there is no transfert limit other than your maximum reserved storage space.

Data storage
Your data is stored on a private partition on our protected Terasafe Pro servers.  You and only you have access to your private Swiss Safe Storage partition.  You can optionally encrypt individual files with a private key.  You can consult the status of your account including used and free space along with some statistics. You will receive warnings by email should your disk quota be exhausted, and off course all our Swiss Safe Storage servers are securely hosted in Switzerland.

Either for corporate or personnal usage, you can get Swiss Safe Storage the size you need; 10, 100, 1'000 even 10'000 gigabytes and more. Please note that Entreprise accounts begins with at least 100 gigabytes.
Any existing subscription can be extended, to fit your evolving needs, by slices of 10, 100, 1'000 et 10'000 gigabytes, but at least by 30% over the current size (1'000 -> 1'300, ).
Subscriptions are invoiced on an annual base.  Invoices are sent by email only, 45 days before due date.

Swiss Safe Storage - Which version should I choose?
If you are a home user, or a small business single user, you should choose Swiss Safe Storage single user version. If you need to backup servers, live databases, multiple backup sets and / or multiple users, you should choose Swiss Safe Storage Entreprise. If you need your data backuped in two different locations (e. g.: you don't do local backup), you should also choose Swiss Safe Storage Entreprise, because entreprise data is automatically backuped in two different locations.

Terms of services:
Unpayed subscriptions will be sent a unique email reminder and Swiss Safe Storage access will be immediately blocked. Subscriptions still unpayed 45 days after due date will be completely erased.  A fixed tax of CHF 150.- has to be payed before Swiss Safe Storage account can be unblocked.
Please note that a fixed tax of CHF 17.- will be invoiced as set-up fee as well as for any Swiss Safe Storage account modification. Payed amounts will not be refundable.

Swiss Safe Storage backups best practices
Some advice to maximize your experience backing up your data to Swiss Safe Storage servers:

• Never back up individual system files or folders. In most cases, your operating system contains tons of files which take forever to be collated and compacted. In addition, this is useless as such an operating system backup will almost always fail to be restored as a working environnement. If you want to back up or archive your operating system, please consider  creating a disk image using dedicated software like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost. You may then backup or archive the image to your Swiss Safe Storage account. Repeat operation every month or after successfully installing new software.
• On the same purpose, do NOT back up your program files, excepting workstations under Mac OS X, this type of backup does not allow to restore your applications. Moreover, you generally should have the original CDs allowing you to reinstall your applications at will.
• Please, keep somewhere and under seals (bank, safe,...), a copy of the passwords you used to encrypt your files.  Loss of your passwords is often synonymous with the loss of your data.
• Employees of InfoForm SA will never ask you for your passwords neither by email, neither by telephone, nor by another means.  Also do not reveal them to anybody.
• Incremental backups take place to keep successive versions of your files.  Before subscribing for a larger space, you can initilize your backup again, thus gaining space (attention, the first backup after this operation can be long, because all the files must be recopied).
• If you have several workstations connected to a server, you will gain time by gathering all files to be backed up on the server.
• Organize your data in a hierarchy of clearly named folders.  Human brain is better able to locate information in a hierarchy composed of several levels than in a folder containing hundreds of disparate files.
• Clearly name your files, avoiding incomprehensible abbreviations.  You are not limited any more to 8 characters today !
